White and black rhinos were introduced to the park some years ago and you may find white rhino at the southern end. The park has also retained its reputation as an ornithologists’ delight with more than 400 species of bird found here. Arrive in time for your hot lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. Enjoy your Evening game drive at Nakuru National Park.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

DAY 2: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara

Depart after your morning breakfast for Lake Nakuru National Park. Game viewing is either done in the early morning hours or in the evening as this is when we have the best chances of seeing animals. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange tinted sunsets and you will definitely want to capture this moment while sipping on a sun downers back at your lodge. The Mara reserve is 1510 sq km of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers. You will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, impala, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in great numbers. The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest exodus in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October.

Accommodation: Full board at Mara Simba Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 3: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy your full day of game drive at Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but are still reasonably common.

DAY 4: Maasai Mara – Serengeti

Transfer after your morning breakfast for Serengeti National Park. This will take up to 8 hours of driving through rough road. Serengeti National Park is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometers of protected area that borders Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Park. Its far-reaching plains of endless grass, tinged with the twisted shadows of acacia trees, have made it the quintessential image of a wild and untarnished Africa. Its large stone kopjes are home to rich ecosystems, and the sheer magnitude and scale of life that the plains support is staggering. Enjoy your enroute game drive at Serengeti National Park.

Accommodation: Full board at Mbalageti Tented Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5: Serengeti National Park

This morning’s African adventure begins with an exploratory game drive through Tanzania’s oldest and most recognized National Park, the Serengeti. This location offers the most expansive game viewing in Tanzania. From predators to prey, great herds of grazing herbivores to tactically cunning packs of carnivores, life on the plains of the Serengeti can best be defined as a complete “circle of life.”

Spend today searching out Impala, one of Africa’s most beautiful and graceful animals. Previously thought to be part of the gazelle tribe, Impalas have been found to be so different that they are now classified as their own sub-family status. Leopards, cheetah, lions and wild dogs prey on impala.

Accommodation: Full board at Mbalageti Tented Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Depart after your morning breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes via the Olduvai Gorge where it is believed the cradle of mankind began. There after transferred to Ngorongoro Crater which is often called Africa’s Eden and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World, a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Masaai herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries. You will be transferred to your lodge. Descend to the rim of the crater for your game viewing. Accommodation: Full board at Rhino Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 7: Ngorongoro – Amboseli

Depart after your morning breakfast for Amboseli via Namanga border. Amboseli National Park is famous for its big game – elephants, lions and cheetahs are the main attractions – and for its great scenery beauty. Amboseli embodies five main wildlife habitats, plus a generally dry lake-bed – Lake Amboseli. These are open plains; extensive stands of yellow-barked acacia woodland; rocky, lava strewn thorn-bush country; swamps and marshes; and at the western end of the reserve, above Namanga, the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok rising to over 2,760m (8.300ft) and still for the most part zoologically unexplored.
